Triple Crown Senior Horse Feed

Triple Crown Senior Horse FeedDeveloped specifically for older horses, Triple Crown Senior Horse Feed features a beet pulp-based formula. Additionally, it offers a higher nutrient and fat content. As a result, this horse feed provides older horses with the digestive assistance and energy they need.

Plus, Triple Crown Senior Horse Feed is a softer feed. It can be mixed with water to form a mash for horses that have difficulty chewing and swallowing.

This senior horse feed includes enough bulk fiber to be used as a sole ration. It is ideal for horses unable to eat hay or pasture.

Senior also works well for horses of any age where you want to maximize fiber and keep starch and sugar low.  Consider senior for horses with compromised digestive systems or teeth issues.

Feeding

Triple Crown Senior is designed for horses that have difficulty consuming hay and traditional horse feeds in pelleted or textured form due to damaged or worn teeth. The nutrient concentration of Triple Crown Senior has also been adjusted to provide a greater allowance to older and other metabolically challenged horses that sometimes experience difficulty in digesting and/or metabolizing normal feedstuffs, minerals and vitamins. IF YOUR HORSE CAN EAT HAY: Provide good quality hay and/or pasture, salt, and fresh, clean water on a free-choice basis. Adjust the amount of Triple Crown Senior fed on a daily basis in order to maintain the horse’s body condition at a moderate level. Begin with approximately 6 pounds of Triple Crown Senior per day and then adjust up or down as needed after 2 to 4 weeks in order to maintain desired body condition. Do not feed more than 5 pounds of Triple Crown Senior at a single meal. Allow 3 to 4 hours between meals when feeding 4 to 5 pounds of Triple Crown Senior at a single meal. IF YOU HORSE HAS DAMAGED OR WORN TEETH AND CANNOT EAT HAY: Triple Crown Senior can be fed as the sole feed for your horse. Provide salt and fresh, clean water on a free-choice basis. Adjust the amount of Triple Crown Senior fed on a daily basis in order to maintain the horse’s body condition at a moderate level. Begin with approximately 12 pounds of Triple Crown Senior per day and then adjust up or down as needed after 2 to 4 weeks in order to maintain desired body condition. Do not feed more than 5 pounds of Triple Crown Senior at a single meal. Allow 3 to 4 hours between meals when feeding 4 to 5 pounds of Triple Crown Senior at a single meal. Water should be added to Triple Crown Senior at the rate of approximately 1 cup of water per 2 to 3 pounds of Triple Crown Senior 10 to 15 minutes prior to feeding. The amount of water added can be adjusted to meet the desires of the individual horse.
